The word “netbook” has been around for a long time, but has only recently been mass introduced to the world by Intel in February 2008, to group together the small sized, light weight and low cost subnotebooks. These mini laptops / netbooks are primarily designed for Internet browsing, emails, and core computing functions, such as word processing. The first netbooks to emerge were the Asus Eee PC range, which grew in popularity very quickly. Since then a number of other manufactures have began producing their own netbooks, and the quality of these mini laptops have increased dramatically.
