News that there would be no new netbooks from Acer or Asus this year spread very quickly around the Internet a few days ago. Many people were concerned about the upcoming release of the Android-based Aspire One from Acer.
To calm things down and set things straight, an Acer representative has said that the Android-based netbook is still 100% on schedule for release in the third quarter this year.

We first heard of the Android netbook from Acer some months back at Computex. It’s great to hear that things are in fact still moving along smoothly.
On a side note, Intel has also spoken up and said that their new Atom chips are still on track for release this year. Via PC World
