It has been known for a while now that Acer were going to release an Android netbook to the market.

Now their first Google Android netbook has been officially announced as the Acer Aspire One D250 Android netbook. While the D250 has been available on the market for some time now the, newly released Android version comes with dual booting Android OS and Windows XP, or Windows 7 OS.

The specifications are mostly the same as the original Acer AOD250 model, but 2GB of RAM seems to be the standard now, along with a 10.1-inch 1024×600 pixel display, and a 160GB hard drive.

The Android Acer D250 is already available to pre-order from Amazon for $349.

Pocket Lint say that the Acer D250 will be available from October 22nd in two versions. The D250 with Android and XP Home will be £279, and the Android and Windows 7 will be £299.

I guess this pricing shows that Windows 7 OS will add £20 to the cost of a netbook from over Windows XP.
