When Acer made the very impressive Aspire Revo Ion powered nettop official, they came clean with all the specifications, but didn’t release two keys bits of information. The price, and release date.
Today I found out this information! From information listed on the UK website Play.com, we see a release date of 18th of May.
This website are listing four versions of the Aspire Revo, with prices ranging from just £179.99 (US $267), to £329.99 (US $489).
The cheapest Acer AspireRevo model, the 92.G1DYZ.UF0 (£179.99) features the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N230, 1GB RAM, an 8GB SSD, Linux OS and a wired mouse and keyboard.
The next model up, the 92.G1EYZ.UFP (£249), features the same CPU, mouse and keyboard, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Vista Home Premium operating system.
The Acer 92.G1EYZ.UFG model (£299.99) sees the addition of a “3D game controller” and a selection of games, while the top of the range £329.99 model also adds wireless mouse and keyboard.
Keen to see the AspireRevo as a Wii like device, the top two models come with the 3D game controller and the following ten games:
Crazy Taxi III, Sonic Heroes, THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 3, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08, Midnight Club 2, Heavy Weapon Deluxe, Crystalize 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Crashday, Ballance.
The very low power consuming Acer Aspire Revo measures just 7.1- x 7.1- x 1.2-inches, and can be mounted to the back of your LCD monitor or HDTV. There are HDMI / VGA outputs, 6x USB 2.0 ports, multi-card-reader, esata, 802.11b/g WiFi and gigabit Ethernet.
The powerful NVIDIA ION graphics can easily decode and playback Full HD / 1080p content. The quiet device will make an ideal HTPC / media center.
The Aspire Revo can be pre-ordered today. I an extremely tempted by the £249.99 / £299 model, and will probably get my order in soon. This is my dream HTPC!
