On the outside the new 11.6-inch Acer Aspire Timeline X 1830T and Acer Aspire One 721 are pretty much identical to each other with the same chassis. But when you take a look at the price, the 1830T is between $599 and $699, while the Aspire One 721 costs only $430.

So why the price difference? The 1830T as reviewed here features the Intel ULCV processor and hardware, where as the One 721 makes use of the latest AMD hardware and CPU.

Acer Aspire One 721 and 521 Reviewed

Acer Aspire AO721The very new to the market Acer Aspire One 721 and Aspire One 521 mini-notebooks / netbooks take a slightly different path than most devices currently on the market.

For starters they both use AMD hardware and ATI graphics, rather than the very common Intel hardware and Atom processors.

The Acer Aspire One 521 has a 10.1-inch LCD with a standard 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, while the Acer Aspire One 721 is the larger at 11.6-inches with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

Acer Aspire One AO721Acer’s new and upcoming netbooks haven’t exactly been a secret and we have all the details posted on on the site for a while now. But today Acer have made their new netbooks range official in the US.

The four new netbooks can be split into two groups, the AMD powered netbooks (AO721 AO521), and the Intel powered netbooks (D260, D533).

The two new AMD netbooks are officially available to purchase from today, while the two Intel models will be available later this month.

Acer Aspire AO721Over the last week one of Acer’s latest netbooks, the Aspire One 721 has been officially announced and and shown up at Amazon.

The 11.6-inch impressive looking netbook is the AMD & ATI version of the Acer Aspire 1830T, which has traded in its Intel internals in favor of AMD’s.

It retains its impressive looking chassis and design, but how makes use of the more powerful AMD Athlon II Neo Processor K125 processor, and the powerful ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics with 384 MB video memory.
