Asus have just announced the Asus Eee PC 1000HE netbook, which is the world’s first netbook to feature the new Intel Atom N280 processor. Dubbed the “other essential travel companion”, the Asus 1000HE can run for a massive industry leading, 9.5 hours, due to a higher capacity battery, combined with Asus’ Super Hybrid Engine and super low power consuming Atom CPU of just 2.5w.
The “E” in the Asus PC1000HE signifies “Extended”. This latest 10-inch LED backlit Eee PC features a new “chiclet” style keyboard which allows for quicker more comfortable typing. The new N280 CPU runs at 1.66GHz, with a fast 667 MHz front side bus.

Other features of the Eee PC 1000HE include a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, bluetooth 2.0 and an integrated webcam. Asus are also including their 10GB of Eee online encrypted storage space.
