Just a few short days ago we were reporting on a rumored new netbook from Asus, named the “Shell“. Well it appears that the “Shell” is the newly announced Asus Eee PC 1008HA.
Asus are being very tight lipped when it comes to giving away much information about the Asus Eee PC 1008HA, but we have been told it’s the follow up to the Asus S101. With a new nice design and exterior the Asus Eee PC 1008 looks very attractive and slim with tapered edges. The Asus PC1008HA measures just 1-inch thick and weights 2.4 pounds.
The “Shell” name comes from it’s pearlescent curved outer shell design, giving it a much nicer look than the normal average netbook.

The Asus 1008HA will come with Eee Arena and Eee Sharing software, and be available in 3G, Bluetooth and WiMax configuration options. Unfortunately very few other details are currently known, but we will keep this post updated as more information is found out.
Update: We have just heard that it’s expected release date is between April – June, and should cost between $400-$600. The Asus 1008HA review has been added to the site.
