Some photos of the upcoming Asus Eee PC 1008P pinetrail netbook have show up online, revealing some interesting information.
The model shown in these photos is actually a special designer edition of the Asus 1008P, designed by Karim Rashid. It looks like it has been designed to look similar to clutch bag with a textured finish.
The Asus 1008P in the new upcoming version of the 1008HA netbook, which now features the new Intel Pine trail CPU, rather than the older Atom CPU.
The 1008HA has always been a very popular and attractive netbook, and is also one of the slimmest. But it aways had a problem, the battery was not removable like with other models. This meant a lot of people opted for the slightly thicker 1005HA model.

With the Asus 1008P model, the battery is now removable!, and not only that, it is very slim, and is removed in a slide out way from a slot in the side. It also features an updated chiclet style keyboard.
Along with the Intel Atom N450 CPU, it will feature 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, 10.1-inch 1024×600 pixel LCD and Windows 7 Starter Edition OS.
I would personally love to see how the standard ASUS Eee PC Seashell 2 1008P model will look. It is expected to be available in February next year in “Hot Pink” and “Coffee Brown” color options. The Asus 1005P-KR is expect to launch soon in Graphite Black.
Update: The very slim and stylish Asus Eee PC 1000P-KR is now available to purchase from Amazon for $490 in Coffee Brown, and $495 in hot pink!
