The Asus 1016P is one of three new great looking netbooks to recently come our way.
It has been available to pre-order along with the 1018P for a little while now, but as of very recently it is now shipping out from Amazon!
As of the time this was written, third-party selling Electronica Direct are currently shipping the Asus Eee PC 1016P for $531.29. Amazon themselves are currently out of stock, but you can order through them and wait, for a slightly cheaper price of $489.99.

We weren’t expecting to see this netbook hit the streets until August, so you will probably find Amazon themselves will start shipping then.
The Asus Eee PC 1016P does carry a price premium, but it can also be seen as a premium / business netbook. The 10.1-inch netbook comes with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, rather than the average 1GB of DDR2, along with Windows 7 Professional, rather than the common starter edition.
As you might have noticed from the DDR3 RAM, it features the Intel Atom N455 1.66Ghz processor, along with a large 320GB SATA hard drive, a 1024 x 600 LED backlit LCD with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. Other features include Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 10 hour battery life.

I own Asus 1005PE. I’m loving it, so far. My next choice will be definitely 1016P, unless something else comes up!
