Asus’ highly anticipated Ion powered Eee PC netbook is now showing up for pre-order in the U.S for about $499.
The Asus Eee PC 1201N is the first Nvidia Ion powered Eee PC from Asus. As well as Ion graphics the 1201N also features the dual core Intel Atom N330 processor giving it more power than the vast majority of Ion netbooks on the market.
The Premium netbook is now available for pre-order in Black and Silver color options. I have seen it listed on three stores with prices between $495 and $499.

For that money you will get a 12.1-inch (1366×768) LED backlit LCD, 2GB of DDR2 Ram, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth and Windows 7 Home Premium.
All are listing the Asus 1201N as pre-order, with no expected dispatch date shown.
Update: Major retailer Amazon are now listing both the black and silver models for pre-order for $499! They have also confirmed it’s release date as January 15th.
Update 2: Newegg.Com have jumped the gun and are currently shipping the Asus 1201n for $499!
