Asus Eee PC

Asus Eee PC 1215NThe Asus Eee PC 1215N is one of the very latest 12.1-inch netbooks from Asus.

It is so new, it isn’t even available just yet, but that didn’t stop one website getting their hands on one for a review.

The 12-inch Asus 1215N is one of the most powerful netbooks coming our way. It features a dual core Intel Atom D525 processor (1.8GHz) along with the next generation Nvidia Ion 2 graphics. This combination gives it plenty of processing power and better multitasking support, and graphical power for HD playback and even some gaming.

Netbook Live have posted their review of the Asus Eee PC 1215N and seem to be very impressed with it, even going as far as saying it “is the most impressive netbook I’ve seen so far.”

He was impressed with its multitasking support, and automatic graphics switching. When the Nvidia Ion 2 graphics aren’t needed, it powers off and switches to the standard Intel graphics to save power, and automatically reverts back when it is needed again.

In the 3DMark06 benchmark the Asus 1215N scored 2671, which is over 1000 more points than the older 1201N with first generation graphics. 1080p HD video playback was also not a problem with both online flash and locally stored files.

He was also impressed with the build quality, and liked now most of the netbook has a matte finish.

The battery lasted for 4-5 hours during normal use, which isn’t too bad for such a powerful netbook.

The Asus 1215N is now available in the US in both black and silver color options for $490 from Amazon!

If you’re in the UK, The Asus Eee PC 1215N can now be purchased for £429!
