The very latest and appealing Asus Eee PC 1215N 12.1-inch netbook, has until now remained fairly elusive, with only a review of a test unit showing up recently.
But now the Asus 1215N has shown up for pre-order in the UK from Amazon for just £429. It also lists a release / shipping date of August 23rd.
Update: It’s now available and shipping in the UK!
As far as I’m aware, this is the first time it had shown for pre-order, and has yet to show in the U.S. But following this UK announcement, we’re sure it will follow suit very shortly.
Both the Black and Silver models of the Asus Eee PC 1215N are up for pre-order for £429.
If you’re looking for a portable notebook and want something slightly bigger and powerful than an average 10-inch netbook the Asus 1215N should be a good bet.
It offers a higher resolution 12.1-inch display of 1366 x 768 pixels for more screen space, along with a stylish finish.
It’s powered by the new Intel Atom D525 dual core 1.8GHz 64-bit processor and new Nvidia Ion 2 (next generation) graphics, along with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.
The Asus 1215N has a quoted battery life of up to 7 hours. The performance and battery life is balanced by an intelligent switching technology, which stitches the Ion 2 graphics and and off as they are needed, providing both graphics performance and battery saving.
Other features include Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 3x USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, and a multicard reader.
Buy the Asus Eee PC 1215N from Amazon UK!

It’s a fact of life that we get ripped off in the UK. £430 for the fastest notebook that has ever been made is quite reasonable, plus I’ve looked around at other ULV notebooks and the cheapest is £100 more!
At the end of the day you pay your money, you make your choice….

You guys in the UK get a better version. The US model has BT 2.1 and USB 2.0 for about $500 so you are getting better hardware for the money.
