We have been hearing and seeing quiet a lot about the new and HD capable Asus Eee Box B206 and B204, but some how Asus must have sneakily introduced the even more impressive Eee Box B208.
Just like the B204 and B206, the B208 is a very small, and slim nettop which can be mounted to the back or an LCD monitor or HDTV, and features HDMI output. The Asus Eee Box B208 features higher specifications, such as the more powerful Intel Atom N330 (dual core) CPU and ATI Radeon HD 4350 series with 256 MB DDR2 memory, as opposed to the N270 and 3450 series graphics.
The Asus Eee Box B208 also features Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic/Vista Business, a 160G/250G/320GB GB SATA II HDD, and upto 2GB of DDR2 RAM.
Otherwise the B208 is very similar to the B204, including bluetooth, 802.11n WiFi, a built-in battery for U.P.S. function, Giga LAN x 1, USB 2.0 x 4, HDMI / DVI out.
Many people, myself included will note that the Asus Eee Box B208, with it’s powerful hardware video decoding is more than powerful enough to decode full HD and blu-ray (via external USB blu-ray drive), resulting in a great HTPC (media center) which is small, powerful, quiet and even include a remote control.
So if the think the single core B204 and B206 isn’t powerful enough for you, the dual core Asus Eee Box B208 should be perfect. Asus Eee Box Specifications
