The latest in the line of Eee PC’s is the very impressive looking Asus Eee PC 1000HE, which we have written about when it was announced, but now we have some first hand reviews.
The Asus Eee PC1000HE is the first netbook on the market to feature the new Intel Atom N280 1.66 processor with slightly faster clock speed and faster front side bus, which helps to speed up communication with other devices.
The Asus 1000HE features a very large 6-cell 63Wh battery which is flush to the body, with no unsightly bulges , which is good for over 7 hours of normal usage.
Other improvements on the Eee PC 1000HE is vastly improved 92% full sized “chicklet” keyboard which makes typing more comfortable and accurate, along with a larger multi-touch touchpad, which allows for easy two fingered zooming.
PC Review very much liked the Asus 1000HE, naming it the “best one yet” even above the very impressive and popular MSI Wind. Review Quest have a number of reviews for the 1000HE, rating it 4.5 out of 5, and say, “the ASUS EeePC 1000HE makes fewer compromises than other netbooks, and the value you get—in terms of design, typing experience, and battery life, among others—for an excellent price will be tough to beat. With the Asus Eee PC 1000HE, ASUS offers one of the best values in netbooks around. Overall I would say ASUS has an impressive new netbook and a very affordable starting price.
