Asus 1005PE, 1005P

We have already seen the Asus 1008P netbook show up, and now it looks like the Asus 1005 models are getting the Pinetrail update as well.

As expected, the very popular Asus 1005HA model has been updated / upgraded to use the very latest Intel Atom Pinetrail processor.

The Asus Eee PC 1005PE / 1005P models have been found listed at a number of stores revealing their specifications and pricing information.

Update: The Asus 1005PE is now available in black and blue color options for just $369 from Amazon!

The new Atom Pinetrail CPU is smaller, and uses less power than the previous models, enabling longer run time and higher performance. Many manufacturers are planning on announcing their new Pineview netbooks at the start of the year, and the Asus 1005P, 1005PE and Asus Eee PC 1008P look to be Asus’ first.

Asus Eee PC 1005P

The Asus Eee PC 1005P features, a 10-inch 1024 x 600 LCD, Atom N450 CPU, NM10 Express chipset, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g WiFi, webcam, Ethernet, 3-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter for €298.

The Asus Eee PC 1005PE has the same specifications but a larger 250GB hard drive, Bluetooth for £260 / €413.

We hope to get some photos of both the Asus 1005PE / 1005P soon, but we expect it to look very similar if not the same as the Asus 1005HA. Via eeepc.it

Update: We now have a more detailed list of each model’s specifications and some great looking photos. Both models will look the same, and will be available in black, white and blue color options.
