It looks like the WiMAX equipped Asus Eee PC 1005PEG could be coming our way very soon.
The Asus 1005PEG first broke cover back in January at this years CES, but very recently it has just passed through the FCC for approval, so it’s a good sign that we should see the 1005PEG quite soon.
The Asus Eee PC 1005PEG is essential the popular 1005PE netbook with WiMAX (3.5G) capabilities, giving it broadband on the go, making this netbook even more useful for those who wish to use the Internet on the go.
From the FCC data we can see that it features an Ericsson WiFi card, and an IMEI barcode for a 3.5G modem, which is expected to be WiMAX.
The rest of the specifications are the same as the 1005PE: with a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display (looks matte), a 250GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 6-cell 48Wh battery.
Still no word on pricing or release date just yet, but we expect it soon.
