Asus previously took the Eee PC 1005HA and added the recent Pine Trail Atom N450 processor creating the Asus Eee PC 1005P, now they had added a new HD display to it creating the Asus Eee PC 1005PR.
The Asus 1005PR looks identical to the 1005P / PE, announced earlier this year in terms of design and specifications, but instead of the standard 10.1-inch 1024 x 768 pixel LCD, the 1005PR has a higher resolution 1366 x 768 pixel (720p HD) 10.1-inch display.
Although the display is the same size, the higher resolution will give extra desktop space making things a lot less cramped.
The rest of the specifications remain the same with the Intel Atom N450 1.66Ghz processor, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, 250GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1.

Other than the display, the netbook appears to be virtually identical to the Asus Eee PC 1005PE. It has the same 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor with GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, and 250GB hard drive. It also has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 6 cell battery (with both 48Whr and 63Whr versions available).
Asus say that the 1005PR has “upscaled video performance with TotalMedia Theatre Support”. We think this might mean than the 1005PR features a Broadcom Crystal HD video card, as we know TotalMedia Theatre supports this. If this is true, it would mean it would be able to playback 1080p HD videos.
Update: It has now been confirmed that the Eee PC 1005PR features the Broadcom Crystal HD video decoder card, giving it HD playback.
Update 2 (May 4th): The Asus 1005PR is now available to order from Amazon for $399!
