It seems that the newer models being shipped out by HP of the HP Mini 1000 include all the hardware to get 3G wireless broadband up and running. A user has discovered by downloading and installing the HP Multi-WWAN Driver, shutting down the netbook. The inserting a 3G SIM card into the slim under the battery, and then running the config tool was all that was needed.
Speeds are reported to be good and stable, but with only a 3-cell battery, it could drain the life quicker.
