As soon as the Asus 1005PE was first announced I knew it would be a very popular netbook. I believe this as I feel that the Eee PC 1005PE offers exactly what the mass netbook audience is looking for in a netbook.

Building on one of the most popular netbooks, the Asus 1005HA, the new Asus 1005PE has taken this successful netbook and upgraded it with the latest generation Intel Atom 450 processor (Pine Trail, hence the “P”), and made a number of tweaks along the way.

There has a lot of talk about the upcoming Nvidia Ion 2 over the last many months, but mostly just rumor .

DigiTimes now have something a whole lot more solid. They are reporting that an Asus Ion 2 powered Eee PC will be launched this April.

The Asus EB1012 is one of the few netops that we have been keeping a keen eye on. If you can remember back to the start of September last year, Asus announced the Asus Eee Box EB1012 nettop, calling it “High Definition Entertainment in a 1L-Sized PC”.

Ever since it’s announcement we have hard nothing of the EB1012, until today! It has shown up for order at Amazon for $387!

Over the last few days a number of new netbooks from leading number manufacturers Asus and Acer have gone on sale.

All three netbooks run the very latest hardware, and feature the latest Intel Atom N450 Pinetrail processor. This new CPU provides a small performance increase, but uses less power than the previous generation, enabling them to have even longer run time.

The Asus Eee PC 1001P is one of Asus’s latest netbooks for 2010, featuring the very latest Intel Atom N450 CPU and Pine Trail platform.

With the very latest processor the Asus 1001P consumes even less power than previous model allowing it to run even longer. The Asus 1001P has a 10.1-inch LCD display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a 160GB / 250GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 0.3MP Webcam, and 802.11b/g WiFi.

The Asus Eee PC T101MT is a new netbook which has been revealed through documents at the FCC. The Asus T101MT has yet to be officially announced, so no pricing, or released date information are currently known, but we expect to know shortly at CES next month.

We are expecting to see a large number of new netbooks coming our way soon, and announced shortly at this years CES.

I’m sure you know by now that the 12.1-inch Asus Eee PC had draw more than it’s fair share of attention and has caused a massive buzz in the netbook industry. The 12.1-inch Asus 1201N is the first Nvidia Ion powered netbook to be released by Asus, the creator of the netbook, and also the very first netbook to combine the Ion chipset and dual core Atom CPU.

We have already seen the Asus 1008P netbook show up, and now it looks like the Asus 1005 models are getting the Pinetrail update as well.

As expected, the very popular Asus 1005HA model has been updated / upgraded to use the very latest Intel Atom Pinetrail processor.

While the Asus Eee PC 1201N has been up for pre-order over at Amazon for the same price, it has a release / ship date of January 15th, meaning there was no hope to get it for Christmas.

According to industry sources Asus are currently working on a touch screen pad device. The Asus Eee Pad, as it has already been dubbed is said to offer a combination of MID and tablet PC capabilities.

The Eee Pad is also said to measure between four and seven inches diagonally.
