Asus has updated their popular Asus 1015PX netbook with the latest Intel Atom N570 dual core processor. This dual core processor features a speed boost running both core at 1.66GHz.
The Asus Eee PC 1015PX is pretty much the same as Asus’ other recently 10.1-inch netbooks, and is essentially the 1015PEM (with has the dual core 1.5GHz dual core), but features the latest N570 processor.
While everyone is struggling to get their hands on the very impressive and in short supply Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet (which is powered by the Tegra 2 dual core processor), Asus is apparently already working on a new tablet powered by the dual core Tegra 3 chipset.
DigTimes has reported that Asus is already working on a Tegra 3 tablet, which is built around the very impressive Kal-El quad-core SOC.
When I recorded my unboxing of the Asus Transformer, I also showed the offical Asus case to stand accessory.
I recived a number of comments on this video about the case, and have found that there is very little information about it on the Internet, and as I havn’t seen any other videos showing its use, so I thought I would highlight a post about this accessory.
Before I get to publishing my review for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer I bring you one final video.
I recorded this a few days ago but have only just got around to posting it onto the website.
In this Asus Eee Pad Transformer unboxing video I show the unboxing of the tablet, the keyboard and also of the official Asus “Case to stand” accessory. I haven’t see too much information on this case / stand, or any videos of its use, so some people might hopefully find it interesting.
When I filmed the Asus Eee Pad Transformer at the UK press launch I received a number of questions regarding just how well the trackpad works and also if it was possible to use an external USB mouse.
With a normal tablet computer of course none of this would even be possible.
When you connect the Transformer pad to the keyboard dock you of course get access to the keyboard along with the trackpad. A black mouse cursor also appears on the display. The trackpad works just as you would expect, and is very responsive, accurate and has no lag.
Part of MyCloud software that comes pre-installed on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is called My Desktop.
This can be used to connect to a Windows PC to remote control the computer, and also be used to synchronize your calendar and contacts between your PC and the Eee Pad Transformer.
Before you can connect to a Windows computer, you will have to download and install the Asus Eee Pad PC Suite software. Installation takes about 2mins, where you will have to set a password.
Great news for all of you who have been patiently waiting for the latest pair of Asus Eee PC netbooks to be released. Both netbooks make use of the latest AMD Fusion hardware, and have extra features such as HD playback and HDMI output, which are not normally found on most netbooks.
They also come in at a great price. Asus Eee PC 1015B and the Eee PC 1215B are now available and shipping out from Amazon from just $289.99!
At yesterdays Asus Eee Pad transformer showcase in London they officially announced the UK pricing, and said that from midnight you will be able to pre-order the Eee Pad Transformer. They have kept their promise and the device is now up for pre-order from Amazon UK!
Yesterday Asus officially announced the UK pricing for their very impressive Asus Eee Pad Transformer device. It can be used as a tablet computer, or docked to the base / keyboard to be used as a standard notebook.
While at the event I spend a good while with the device and saw a number of personal demonstrations. Please view the hands on video below.
