The Asus Eee PC T101MT touchscreen convertible netbook (aka netvertible) is now available in the US for $499.
The 10.1-inch netbook looks like an ordinary netbook, but has a display which can be rotated around and folded down onto the keyboard, to be used as a tablet.

With the upcoming release of the Apple iPad, and tablet PC interest set to soar, the Asus T101MT convertible netbook will hopefully compete well. The T101MT and the iPad have the same $499 price tag, but the T101MT offers a lot more, a keyboard, full operating system, multitasking and a whole lot more.
We first saw the Asus Eee PC T101MT at the start of the year when it was officially announced at CES, and it looks set to be available worldwide very soon. It’s already available in Germany and starting to show up in Italy. It has also been ear marked with a price of $499 in the US, and scheduled to ship in April.

It features a 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive resistive touchscreen display, and supports multitouch gestures. Running Windows 7 it already has great support for touchscreen input, but Asus are also including their TouchGate software package for additional features.
Hardware wise you will find the Intel Atom N450 1.66Ghz processor, 2GB of RAM, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, a 320GB hard drive, Bluetooth,802.11b/g/n WiFi, and a 6.5 hour battery life.
