Asus’ Lamborghini range of computers are normally aimed at hardcore gamers and power users, and certainly not something I would be likely to post on this netbook site.
But the Asus Lamborghini VX6 12.1-inch notebook is much more along the lines of this site, due to its smaller portable size, and its use of an Intel Atom processor.
The Asus VX6 uses styling from the Lamborghini brand resulting in a great looking device. It might be powered by an Intel Atom processor, but Asus have used the dual core Atom D525 1.8GHz processor usually found in desktops giving it more power than an average netbook, but low power consumption.
It also features up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, and has a 12.1-inch LCD with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, and Nvidia Ion 2 graphics for HD playback, along with Bang & Olufsen speakers and Windows 7. It will be available in white and black color options. Battery life is quoted at 7.5 hours.
The Asus Lamborghini VX6 notebook / netbook seems to be in direct competition with Acer’s Ferrari One.
No word on pricing just yet, but we expect it to cost a small premium more than a standard good spec’ed 12-inch notebook.
