The upcoming Intel Cedar Trail platform / the Intel Atom D2700 processor has been benchmarked by Mike over at NetbookLive.
Mike got his hands on the new 12-inch Asus Lamborghini VX6S netbook featuring the next-generation Intel Atom D2700 CPU and the powerful AMD Radeon 6470M GPU (graphics), and put it against the older Pine Trail/ION2 powered Lamborghini VX6. He also put it against the Asus Eee PC 1215B netbook which is powered by the AMD Zacate E-350 APU.
While you will for now have to take these benchmark results with a pinch of salt, as the netbook has yet to be released, and you can expect the final release version to be tweaked more.
Mike ran a number of benchmarks on all three systems, with the VX6S out performing the rest in every case. In PC Mark the Atom D2700 powered VX6S was about 10% faster than the Asus 1215B, and 25% faster than the original VX6.
