The Dell Inspiron 11z netbook / thin and light notebook has now been officially announced by Dell, a few short days after it’s existence was first revealed via a number of photos.
Not only has the Dell 11z been made official, it has also been released, and is available direct from dell for $399.
The 11.6 inch 11z weighs just three pounds, and measures just one inch thick. It features an 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB SATA (5400RPM) hard drive, GS45 graphics, and a 1,366 x 768 LED backlit LCD.
Dell say that the Dell Inspiron 11z will offer “smooth HD playback”. It also features WiFi, stereo speakers, Ethernet, multicard reader, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a HDMI output.
A three cell (28WHr) battery should last three hours. Not as good as most netbooks, but this “thin and light” features more powerful specifications.
The Dell 11z comes will Vista Home Premium, and also a free upgrade kit to Windows 7. It is currently available from Dell.com for $399, and will be available to order from Carphone Warehouse in the UK from the August 25th.
