The Dell Mini 10 seems to offer the perfect size between their 12-inch and 9-inch model, offering both easy mobility with it’s light and small size, but also enough screen size to be used comfortable.

The 10-inch netbook market competition has been growing rapidly, but the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 competes very well, by being the thinnest and lightest in it’s size class. The Mini 10 is also more customizable than others, offering component upgrades and multiple color options.

The current starting price of $449 for the Dell Mini 10 will get you an Intel Atom Z530 (1.6GHz) CPU, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB HDD and Windows XP, and of course the 10-inch LCD with a 2024 x 576 pixel resolution.

We are just starting to see reviews coming in of Dell Mini 10, the first of which is from Laptopmag via Review Quest, where they say the Mini 10 features a very decent keyboard, which is bigger than that found on the larger Mini 12 model and a great design. The Mini 10 costs a little more than some other 10-inch netbooks, and the same as the highly rated Samsung NC10, but does not feature the NC10′s larger 6-cell battery.

As I write this, Dell have yet to release the Mini 10 with the optional extra features such as the larger 6-cell battery, GPS, TV tuner or mobile broadband, but when they do the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 will be even more tempting.

Update: The Dell Mini 10 is now available from Amazon, or from Dell directly!
