The HP Mini 311 might not have been the first Nvidia Ion powered netbook be to announced by manufacturers, but it was the very first to actually hit the market and become available to purchase.

The HP 311 is an 11.6-inch netbook with Ion LE graphics / chipset, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 HD LCD, HDMI output, and a 160GB hard drive. It is currently the only Ion powered netbook available in the US, and have proved to be very popular We’re still waiting on the Samsung N510 and Lenovo S12.

There is now a review available for the HP Mini 311 where it received very high four out of five rating. Laptopmag said that “it’s a winner” and that it provides 15 times the graphics performance of a standard netbook, while also offering impressive battery life.

It delivers strong graphics performance, including 1080p HD playback, along with good portability at 3.2 pounds, while providing 5 hours 46 minutes battery life while surfing over WiFi.

It also has a very attractive design and is comfortable to use.

For just $399 direct from HP, the HP Mini 311 is a great bargain.
