The HP Mini 311 is currently one of the best netbooks on the market, and has received a great review.
But it looks like the HP 311 is only going to get better, with a number of optional upgrades becoming available soon.
The 11.6-inch HP Mini 311 netbook is currently available with Windows XP operating system and Nvidia Ion LE graphics. The LE version doesn’t support DirectX10 (v 9 only).
It will soon be available with Windows 7 (order now) and the full Nvidia Ion graphics, making one the the very best netbooks even better.

HP Mini 311
myhpmini found the new official HP Mini 311 “Maintenance and Service Guide” which shows the future upgrades for the 311.
The Windows 7 version will come with the full Nvidia Ion graphics, and be available in the Windows 7 Starter, Basic, Premium and Professional options. Ram can also be upgraded to 3GB total, along with an 80GB SSD, and 250GB / 320GB hard drives.
With these extra options becoming available, I have become very interested in the HP Mini 311. I have long been interested in the other ION powered netbook, the Samsung N510, and hope they release the N510 with Windows 7 and Full Ion. If Samsung wish to compete with the Mini 311, they will have to make more models available, at a lower price.
Update: The Dell Mini 311 is now available to order with Windows 7 Home Premium, for $50 extra!
