Although not officially announced by HP just yet, the HP Mini 311 seems well and truly on it’s way.
The HP Mini 311 has already shown up on a number of retailers websites along with a number of useful specifications. The HP 311 appears to be a 11.6-inch netbook, with an Intel Atom 1.6Ghz processor and Nvidia Ion LE graphics.
It’s great to see another Ion powered netbook on the market. The other specifications include 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 5-in-1 multicard reader.
The HP Mini 311 maybe also been known as the “Compaq Mini 311” as HP often uses the Compaq brand for it’s products in Europe. Having said that, the HP Mini 311 is already being listed on one retailer for £336.47 inc Vat ($550), although it’s currently not in stock.

The HP Mini 311 measures 11.4″ x 8.03″ x 1.2″ and weighs 1.46 kg. The 11.6-inch LCD is listed as “HD BV LED” so we expect it to have a 720p + resolution, along with being LED backlit.
With Ion graphics, an HD LCD and HDMI it seems as if the Mini 311 has HD covered very well!
We expect an official announcement from HP soon, along with it’s release to other stores very shortly. Another rumored netbook from HP, but with less confirmation is the HP Mini 210.
Update: HP have now officially announced the Mini 311. It should be available in the US on September 23rd for $399. Another version of the HP Mini 311 will launch on October 22nd, when Windows 7 is released. It has been confirmed that it will be known as the Compaq Mini 311 in the UK, and will retail for £349.
The HP Mini 311 has been confirmed as having a 11.6-inch display (1366 x 768), with an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, Ion LE graphics and a 160GB hard drive. It has a 92% sized keyboard, 3x USB 2.0 and HDMI output.
Update: The HP Mini 311 is now available, direct from HP for $399.
Update 2: The HP Mini 311 Review has now been added to the site. It received a great four out of five rating.
