For those of you looking for a smart and professional looking netbook, the new HP Mini 5101 should look ideal.
The HP 5101 netbook features a high quality aluminum and magnesium chassis which should appeal to the mobile professional, and frankly, anyone who likes some style.
While the uses the standard Intel Atom CPU there are a few extra features that the HP Mini 5101 brings to the table. A high performance 7,200 RPM hard drive comes as standard on the 5101, with optional SSD drives of 80 or 128GB, along with HP 3D DriveGuard, which features a three-axis digital accelerometer chip, which protects the hard drive from any shocks or sudden movements.
The HP Mini 5101 features a 10.1-inch LED backlit LCD display available in either WSVGA (1024 x 600) or “HD” (1366 x 768) resolutions.
The high quality keyboard is 95% full size spacious keyboard design with keys raised from the surface, along with a large touch pad, with the two mouse buttons in the correct place, below the touchpad.
There are also two battery options, the standard four cell, and the larger six cell battery, which is rated at eight hours of run time. The HP Mini 5101 also features WiFi, WWAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 2 megapixel webcam.
The HP Mini 5101 looks to be a very impressive netbook, and will be available in late July for $449. HP Press Post.
