The Compaq Mini 311 is the European version of the very impressive HP Mini 311 netbook (which is available in the U.S).
Although the Compaq Mini 311 has different branding the netbook is essentially exactly the same, featuring the highly anticipated Nvidia Ion LE graphics.
The 11.6-inch netbook features an Intel Atom 1.66Ghz CPU along with the 1080p HD capable Nvidia Ion chipset / graphics. Other specifications are fairly standard for a netbook with 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth, 5-in-1 card reader and 802.11b/g WiFi.
The 11.6-inch LCD has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, which is perfect for 720p HD video and provides more screen space than many netbooks. The keyboard is 92% full sized, and there are 3x USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI for outputting the HD content to a HDTV.
The Compaq Mini 311c will launch later this month with Windows XP, and another version will follow after October 22nd which features Windows 7.
Update: The Mini 311c is now available and shipping from Amazon UK!
