HP has already has some success in the Netbook market with the Mini Note 2133, and now they appear to be adding a second model to their lineup. The HP Mini 1000 was caught on HP’s website for a short while, revealing some specifications.
The Mini 1000 features a large 10.2-inch display with a nice slim bezel surrounding it, weighs 2.25 pounds (less than the Hp Mini Note), less than 1-inch thick, and has a decent starting price of $399.

As we guessed, HP have dropped VIA in favor of the newer Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU. You can get the HP Mini 1000 with a 10.2-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, or for a little cheaper, a 1240 x 600 8.9-inch display. Available with 512MB, 1GB and 2GB RAM options, and a 60GB 42rpm HDD or a 8 / 16GB SSD. With the SSD drive option, you can also get a 2,4 or 8GB “HP Mini Mobile” Drive, which is like a USB drive which inserts all the way in to the Mini 1000.
There is also a VGA Webcam, WiFi b/g, Ethernet, SD slot, and optional Bluetooth. The HP Mini-1000 looks great, has great specifications, and a great starting price. We will be sure to keep our eyes out for the new HP Mini 1000.
