We have just read that Engadget has got wind of some rumors from a “very reliable tipster” that Verizon and HP are working together on a number of subsidized WWAN-enabled netbooks.

The subsidized HP netbooks are expected to launch in the 2nd quarter this year. Which netbooks exactly are currently unknown, but we expect one would be the HP Mini 1000.

So if you’re wanting a netbook with WWAN access (with Verizon) this deal could be looking very good for you.

We expect the price to be very cheap for the netbook, maybe $99, and a one / two year contract.
