With the World Cup starting this Friday, LG have just announced a special World Cup Edition of their new LG X140 netbook.
The special edition 10.1-inch netbook will go in sale in certain countries this month. Exactly what countries we are not sure, I’m suspecting it will be available in a number of European countries as the world cup is a very big deal here.
The specifications appear to be the same as the original X140; powered by the Intel Atom N450 or N470 processor with 1 or 2GB of RAM, a 250 / 320GB hard drive.
The 10.1-inch LCD with be available in two resolutions, the standard 1024 x 600, or the HD 1366 x 768 version. Other features include a 1.3MP webcam, optional 3G, SRS TruSurround HD sound, and Windows 7 Starter Edition.

It will be available with either a 6-cell, or 9-cell battery, with the later providing 12 hour of battery run time. The 6-cell version weighs 1.3kg while the 9-cell model comes in at 1.45kg.
I’m sure this World Cup themed netbook will be popular with football fans and probably most guys in general.
This special edition will be available in three colors, white, black and hot pink. Each color will have a different world cup design on the lid.
In related news, Samsung have announced the Samsung N150 Plus Adidas Special Edition netbook for the world cup. Along with a special design, you can also get a matching mouse and case for it. This version also includes Bluetooth 3.0, a feature not found on the standard Samsung N150.
No information whether this Samsung N150 Adidas will make it out of Korea though.
