MSI have updated their popular Wind U100 netbook with the improved MSI Wind U100 Plus. The U100 Plus adds even more color options to the netbook by adding “Metallic Blue” and “Rose Champagne” to the already existing three colors.
The main upgrade we can see on the MSI U100 Plus version is the new Intel Atom N280 (1.66GHz) processor, which is faster and consumes less power. The MSI Wind U100 Plus has the same design as the U100 model, weighs 1kg, and features a 10-inch LED backlit LCD display with a 1024×600 pixel resolution.
The Wind U100 Plus uses the Intel 945GMS chipset, and Intel’s GMA950 integrated graphics, with upto 2GB of DDR2-533 RAM, a 160GH HDD, 802.11n WiFi, VGA out, 3x USB 2.0, and a 4-in-1 card reader. There is also a 1.3 megapixel webcam and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.
A 3-cell battery is standard, with a 6-cell battery option. MSI claim that the 3-cell standard battery can last upto a staggering 7 hours. Going by this, the MSI Wind U100 Plus should last upto 14 hours on the 6-cell battery!
No release date or price has been given for the MSI U100 Plus. But we will keep you updated.
