MSI Wind U150It has been a little while since we first heard the rumors of an MSI touchscreen netbook based on Intel’s new, next generation Pine Train Atom platform.

MSI has since confirmed the new MSI Wind U150 netbook, and say that the new Intel Atom chipset is due to be official launched at this year’s CES coming up at the start of next month.

The last we heard from Intel was that it plans on launching the Pine Train platform, and shipping to it’s customers before the year end.

The MSI Wind U150 10-inch convertible netbook / tablet will ship with Windows 7 and feature the latest generation of Atom CPU, and go head to head with the Eee PC T91. MSI hope to be the first to market with their new Pine Trail netbooks.

The Pine Trail platform has an all in one CPU and GPU setup, and offers improved graphics performance along with a 20% reduction on power usage, leading to longer battery run time.

MSI seem to be joining Samsung and Lenovo in holding back some of their newer netbooks for the release of Windows 7. We will update this post when more information is available on the MSI U150! via Gizmodo.
