So how does the new MSI U160MX differ from the original U160? Well firstly the main difference is that the U160MX is available with either a single or dual core Intel Atom processor rather than just the standard single core.
Apart from that the MSI U160MX isn’t too different from the original U160 design. Apprentice wise it has a very similar chassis, but does feature a number of small changes / improvements. The touchpad shape has been slightly changed and now there is a small indented line on the touchpad button to better indicate the left and right button click. It is still of a rocker type, but now at least you will be able to feel exactly where your finger is, and not have to look down.
The finish of the MSI Wind U160MX has also been updated, and now has a very smart / professional brushed metal style finish and a “silver black” color scheme.
The 10.1-inch U160MX comes with 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Windows 7 Starter Edition and the same high capacity 6-cell battery found on the previous model. This battery isn’t exactly flush, but some people like it as it raises the back of the netbook up for a better typing position, and can also be used for carrying the netbook.
