The “Light” edition of the U230 has an 11.6-inch matte display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, while the standard (non Light) version has a 12.1-inch display.
Where as Samsung are appending “Plus” and “Plus Premium” to indicated better product specifications, MSI have added “Light” to indicate a different model entirely.
From the press photos the MSI U230 Light looks identical to the standard Wind U230. But this is no mistake, as the MSI Wind U230 Light (Light-087US) can be seen on the official MSI website, and can now also be purchased from Amazon for $399.99.

MSI Wind U230 Light
The MSI U230 Light make use the the AMD Congo platform, so don’t expect to see amazing battery life, but on the other hand it should offer performance above that of an average netbook powered by the Intel Atom platform / CPU.
It’s powered by the AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 1.6 GHz processor, and ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, along with 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 1.3MP webcam, HDMI output, multi-card-reader, and 3x USB 2.0 ports.
It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, weighs 3.3lbs with its 6-cell 5200mAh battery which should provide 4-hours of use.

Yeah apparently so! It does look great.
Amazon just played with the links a little, linking to the original model. But I updated the links, and the correct price is only $399! Available now.

Still weights the same . . . and shouldn’t be the “12″ name dropped?
Shouldn’t it be Wind u230 Light? Hmm. . . also noticed that the drivers are the same with the Light’s father (The msimobile website redirected me to Wind12 U230 . . .).
