Netbooks are becoming very popular with travelers and are now a very frequent item to bring with you on a flight.
As well as allowing you to keep in contact with work and family, their very long battery life enables you to watch a number of movies during a flight.
The US TSA (Transportation Security Administration) have announced (in a blog post..), that Netbooks and Tablet devices, such as the iPad do not have to be removed from your bag or case when you go through the airport x-ray scanner.
They said, “Electronic items smaller than the standard sized laptop should not need to be removed from your bag or their cases. It’s that simple.”.
They specifically mentioned netbooks, so no longer will you have to dig through your bag and remove your netbook, as you do with a normal laptop. Yet another advantage of owning a netbook!
As they said “smaller than the standard sized laptop”, we assume this to be 15-inches or so, so if you own a 12-inch ultra portable, this will also hopefully be okay also.
