The vast majority of netbook on the market today feature the Intel Atom N270 or maybe N280 processor.
The latest, upcoming generation of Atom CPUs are based on the new Pineview platform. We have previously heard of the Atom N450 CPU which runs at 1.66Ghz (same as the N280), but now the Intel Atom N470 CPU has been reveled which runs at a 1.86Ghz clock speed.
Along with the faster 1.86GHz clock speed the Atom N470 has a 667MHz front side bus, hyperthreading support, and a TDP of 6.5 watts.
Unlike the previous Atom CPUs the Atom N450 and Atom N470 design features an integrated graphics controller. So the slightly higher TDP of 6.5 watts is impressive.
The Intel Atom N470 processor is expected to launch Q1 2010, we hope to see it in many netbooks shortly!
