SanDisk Cruzer BladeSo you own a nice small netbook? The last thing you want is a huge USB Flash drive sticking out of it.

SanDisk have just launched their very small Cruzer Blade USB Flash drive. While we doubt it is the world’s smallest USB flash drive, it is SanDisk’s smallest. They say it’s about the size of a paper clip.

Mine arrived today, and I thought I would take some shots of it in use to show its small size.

It certainly is very small and light. Also it is made of 100% plastic, even the USB 2.0 connection. But it does feel very strong, and sturdy, so I’m not worried about breaking it, only loosing it! It also feature a small hole for attaching it to your keyring or a cord.

As you can see in the photos, it doesn’t look ridiculous sticking out of a 10.1-inch netbook like some do. It is shown next to the truly tiny Logitec Unifying receiver of the M505 mouse (great for netbooks).

Windows reported a write speed of about 4-5Mb/s, and a read speed of about 20Mb/s.  I can perform some more speed tests if requested.

As the Cruzer Blade is made by SanDisk you know it is of good quality. It is available in sizes from 2GB to 16GB. Official pricing goes from $14.99 to $77.99, but it is available for much cheaper from Amazon with prices from just $12 to $25 for the 16GB!

I picked up my 16GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade from Amazon UK for just £16.99 (down from £39!)
