First Smartbooks Coming In Q4

SmartbookAccording to a number of reports we should expect to see a number of Smartbooks available in the fourth quater this year!

According to industry sources, Acer, Foxconn, Compal, Pegtron and a number of other Taiwanese manufacturers are due to deliver Snapgragon and Tegra chipset based smartbooks by the end of this year.

Acer should be first with it’s Android device, adding Google mobile OS, and Mobinnova should be supplying Europe and US with it’s 8.9-inch elan smartbook.

Invatech is expect to ship a 10-inch smartbook called the Inventec Rainbow at the beginning of next year.

Smartbooks feature ARM processors, and don’t run the common Windows operating system. But with promises of 10+ hour battery life and fanless cooling, we are excited to see how well these devices do. Via Engadget.
