The Intel Atom CPU is the most common processor found in most netbooks today, is now one year old. To celebrate this, Intel have announced the Intel Atom Z550 CPU, which has a faster clock speed of 2GHz.
Along with running at an impressive 2GHz, the Intel Atom Z550 also supports Hyperthreading, and only uses a measly 3 watts of power.
Intel also revealed the Intel Atom Z515 CPU, with Burst Performance Technology, which can increase the speed of the CPU to 1.2GHz and down to just 800Mhz, when the CPU is idle, saving even more power.
Intel also demoed their upcoming Moorestown netbook / MID platform.
