The Point of View Mobii ION 230 is a netbook which stands out from the crowd for a number of reasons. Firstly is it’s brightly colored design, and secondly, it’s internal specifications.
As the name suggests, the Mobii ION 230 netbook features the Nvidia Ion chipset / graphics, and also the Intel Atom N230 processor, which is usually only found in nettops.
The Point of View Mobii ION 230 is one of only a few netbooks announced which will feature the powerful Ion graphics. It also features a HDMI output, which makes it even more tempting to use as a HTPC.
The Mobii ION 230 features a 10.2-inch LCD (1024 x 600), along with 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, card reader, WiFi, webcam and optional Bluetooth 2.0. There are 2x USB 2.0 ports, along with a 6-cell 4400mAh battery, which should last for 4 hours. Point of View also said the Mobii ION 230 will features a Linux operating system.
It will be available in a few weeks, in three colors; black, red and line. It’s expected to be released in Europe first for about €349 ($490).
