No long normally passes by without a new netbook release on the horizon. But that looks set to change from Asus and Acer for the near future.
It has been said that the Acer and Asus will be freezing the release of any new netbooks until next year! This delay has been made to coincide with Intel’s recent decision to postpone their new Pinetrail platform, which includes the new Atom N450 processor.
Asus has also been said to be delaying the release of their new tablet netbook, the Asus T101H until after October this year, when Windows 7 launches. This makes sense of course, as Windows 7 makes great use of the multi touch controls.
Ausu will also launch an Ion powered nettop in October, alongside the new Eee Box 1006.
Both Acer and Asus will in the meantime be concentrating on the new thin-and-light laptops with Intel’s CULV range of processors.

Update: An Intel representative has said that they will deliver the new Atom chips on schedual, rejecting the report that they have been delayed until 2010.
