Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks.

Current netbooks and nettops with the Nvidia Ion chipset are still very few and far between. With many expect to be released over the next few months.

But that isn’t stopping Nvidia from working on, and planning the release of the second generation of Ion graphics, the Nvidia Ion 2.

ASRock have announced their latest netbook / sub-notebook in the form of the ASRock Multibook G22.

The new Multibook G22 is a 12.1-inch machine with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution display, running an Intel CULV processor and chipset along side 2GB of DDR2 RAM.

Japan’s DosPara have announced the Prime Note Cresion NA netbook with mixes things up a little from the standard configurations we are used to seeing.

The DosPara Prime Note Cresion NA uses the Nvidia Ion chipset, for powerful graphics, and has put it along side the dual core Intel Atom 330 CPU.

Digittimes have published a report about upcoming new processors from Intel, where a number of new netbook destined Atom processors were mentioned.

Reports from Digitimes are normal accurate, but we don’t trust it 100%, maybe 95% though.

A whole sea of netbooks were unleashed among us over the last week or so at Computex, and it’s easy to let a few slip by. The J&W Minix 811 was spotted by netbooknews where they gave it a good hands on run down of the little netbook.

The J&W Minix 811 was the thinnest netbook seen at Computex 2009 and offers a good set of features along with an optional 3G modem and Sim card slot.

The most common processor found in most netbook is the Intel Atom N270 CPU. But this is soon to change with the introduction of the new Intel Atom N450 processor.

The Intel Atom N450 CPU, which is specifically designed for netbooks, is scheduled for launch in October this year, replacing the popular and common N270 CPU.
