Packard Bell have now officially launched the “Dot” Netbook in the UK. The Packard Bell Dot is a nice compact unit with a 8.9-inch LCD screen. Similar the the Acer Aspire One the Dot has the typical Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB HDD.
The Packard Bell Dot has a glossy lid, and a distinctive red “dot” (inspiration for the name?) on the side of the hinge, and a decent sized keyboard, which looks rather Acer like.
The best thing about the Dot is the optional internal 3G high speed modem, and 6-cell battery for extra juice on the go.

Excpect to see the Packard Bell Dot in the UK very shortly. No word on a worldwide release just yet.
