While Acer have announced the Ion 2 packing AO532G at the Mobile World Congress 2010, Samsung also have a world’s first to show off.
While they don’t have any new netbooks to display, they have announced that they will be adding in their own Kalmia LTE modem chipset (4G) to their latest netbooks announced at CES earlier this year.
While the press release only talks about the Samsung N150 getting the 4G LTE treatment, further down they mention all four models, the NB30, N210, and the N220, so we expect it to make it’s way on to all the models.
Now word on release date, but Samsung did give a not some helpful reply with “”according to service schedule and market demand”. We expect it should be too long though, probably between the end of Q1 and Q2.
Broadband on the go on a netbook is ideal, but unfortunately with the prices they are current charging for service, many people will be put off. We hope this will drop soon. Via Engadget
