While writing my review for the new Samsung N230 10.1-inch netbook, I took a number of photos comparing the N230 to the slightly older N210 model.
These photos didn’t make it into my review, but I thought a quick comparison post between the two might be useful for potential buyers.

The Samsung N230 is the latest 10.1-inch netbook offering from Samsung.
It builds on the success of their popular N210 / N220 netbooks, and has only been available for a very short while. My Samsung N210 review was very popular with over 65,000 views and 100 comments, and is currently my netbook of choice, so I have very high hopes for Samsung’s latest ultra sleek model.
When the Samsung N230 was first announced, on paper it didn’t sound anything too special, with most of its specifications remaining the same as in the previous N210 / N220 model, with the Same Intel Atom N450 processor. But when we first clapped eyes on the photos of the N230 it became clear that the N230 was indeed a special netbook.

The 10.1-inch Samsung N230 is the latest generation netbook offering from Samsung.
It builds on the popular N210 and N220 models by sliming down and updating the design, adding Bluetooth v3.0 and finishing it all off with a great looking brushed metal finish.
My Samsung N210 review has been very popular, with over 60,000 views and 100 comments to date. I should be able to publish my own review of the N230 in a week to ten days time, but until then I can share with you Notebookcheck’s thoughts.
Update: My detailed Samsung N230 Review has now been published!

The Samsung N230 is the latest 10.1-inch netbook from Samsung.
When it was first announced its specifications didn’t look all that different than the previous N210 / N220 models currently available. But after we saw the first press shots of the Samsung N230, it gained a lot of peoples attention.
While the specifications are similar, it has a great looking thin design, with brushed metal palm rest, chrome hinges, and a great boarderless chiclet style keyboard.

First there was the Samsung N220, then there was the N220 Plus, and now there is the Samsung N220 Plus Premium.
Just last month we saw the N150 Plus, N220 Plus and NB30 Plus models announced, which added a larger 250GB hard drive, new power saving features to reduce power consumption when in standby, a new fast book utility, and a preinstalled copy of Microsoft Office Starter Edition 2010.
So what does the “Plus Premium” version add over the standard or the Plus versions?

I don’t remember hearing anything about the “Samsung Netbook Bundle” which I have seen showing up at Amazon UK for a little while now.
The official Samsung netbook bundle consist of a netbook sleeve, Panda Antivirus 2010 for Netbooks, and Ability Office v5 Home Edition USB stick. Which Samsung says will ensure that “your netbook is always safe, secure and as productive as it can be”.
Samsung are of course aiming this bundle at users who are purchasing a new (Samsung) netbook.

Samsung have announced “Plus” versions of their latest generation of netbooks in the U.S.
We first saw this with the Samsung N150 Plus (Samsung N150-11), which gains a larger 250GB hard drive (rather than 160GB), along with a special sleep technology which reduces its power consumption when in standby mode, a fast boot software, and a bundled version of Microsoft Office Starter Edition 2010.

The Samsung NB30 Pro netbook is Samsung’s highend version of their original durable NB30 netbook.
It is currently available to order from Amazon for $519.
The original NB30 was announced along with the N210 and N230 as a tougher version of these netbooks aimed slightly more towards business users. The NB30 Pro model takes things even further and ups the specifications but featuring 2GB of RAM, rather than just 1GB, and comes with Windows 7 Professional installed, rather than the starter edition.
