The 10.1-inch Samsung N230 is the latest generation netbook offering from Samsung.
It builds on the popular N210 and N220 models by sliming down and updating the design, adding Bluetooth v3.0 and finishing it all off with a great looking brushed metal finish.
My Samsung N210 review has been very popular, with over 60,000 views and 100 comments to date. I should be able to publish my own review of the N230 in a week to ten days time, but until then I can share with you Notebookcheck’s thoughts.
Update: My detailed Samsung N230 Review has now been published!
They found the Samsung N230’s build quality to be very impressive. They said the whole unit, and even the lid were both very strong and rigid, and the new hinges were also very strong and stiff.
They said the ergonomics were also very good with the keyboard being one of the netbook’s best features. I was very impressed with the N210’s keyboard so I look forward to testing out the N230’s latest one. As with the previous Samsung netbooks, the N230 also has a matte / non-gloss LCD.
The model NotebookCheck looked at only had a 3-cell battery, and in a world where most netbooks now come with a 6-cell battery, they were a little disappointed. It is also available with a 6-cell battery, but I have yet to see it in the US.
On the other hand, in the UK, it seems to only be available with the higher capacity 6-cell battery.
They weren’t too keen on it’s price, and at $399 it is higher than many netbooks currently available, but I see this price being justified by its stylish design, finish and high quality.
In the UK it is available to purchase for £349.
