Toshiba have updated their NB100 netbook with the new an improved Toshiba NB200. The Toshiba Mini NB200′s main claim to fame is it’s 9-cell battery. While most netbooks will feature a standard 3-cell battery, and a lucky few a 6-cell, the NB200′s 9-cell battery will last a full 9 hours.
A nine hour battery life offers great potential for the budding traveler, providing plenty of juice for long durations away from a power source. The Toshiba NB200 has recently been announced in the UK for £319, which is $460 at the current exchange rate.
The Toshiba Mini NB200 has an attractive design, and some fairly typical specifications, such as the Intel Atom N270 or N280 CPU, a 160GHz HDD, and a 10.1-inch widescreen TruBrite LED backlit LCD.

There is also a near full sized keyboard, and an extra large trackpad, which makes using the netbook even easier. A great feature of the Toshiba NB200, which I have yet to see on any other netbooks is an accelerometer monitoring system, that can detect knocks and vibrates, to protect the internal hard drive.
The 1.1Kg netbook should be available next month (May 09).
The Toshiba NB200 review has now been added to the site.
